  • Mask is warping when I try to move a layer in the viewer

    Hi all,

I’ve been using AE for about 20yrs now and never encountered this I think. Selecting a layer from the timeline (a photo image) that has an ellipse mask applied to it. As usual the mask is not locked. I am sure to select the layer, not the mask. In the viewer I attempt to move the layer image but all it does is warp the mask shape, i.e., two of the beziers are adjusting length and angle. Even if I select right in the middle of the circle. Even if I am zoomed right in.

I can’t think what I might have switched on to cause this effect. I’m sure it is handy at times but right now I have to keep locking and unlocking my masks which is not very productive.

Any ideas? Have you come across this in the past? What is it that I’ve switched?

    Thanks
    Sean

Absolutely killing me right now, cause I know that happened to me in the last year and I can’t remember the issue.

Do you have any expressions on the layer you are trying to move?
