Marrying 1080i 24fps video files with Audio
I’m in Final Cut putting 1080i 23.97 fps files together with audio from a production house. Does the audio from the production house have to also be produced at 23.97 and if so…. how do I click on the file and find out if it’s been done at a certain frame rate. I forgot how to see that information. Any help will be appreciated.

Audio doesn’t have a frame rate. It works on sample rate which should be 48khz.
The important thing is that the audio post facility has used a reference video file that was running 23.976 if that is what the original sequence was. When you have the final audio, you should import that into the 23.976 project and it should sync correctly.
Jeremy Garchow has posted here numerous times explaining the importance of importing the audio into a project with all the swettings correct so perhaps a search of his previous posts on this will give you a step by step guide to making sure you get it right.
It is important as FCP adds metadata to the file to give it a frame rate inside FCP and if this isn’t correct you will have sync drift.
