  • marking used clips….

Hello: I’ve got five years of dpsVelocity under my belt, and have just purchased FCP Studio 2.0 for my home. So, although I’m not new to editing, I am a rookie when it comes to FCP. I have many questions, but, for now, specifically this one. In Velocity, if you use a clip, or portion of, on the timeline, it will mark that clip with a small yellow triangle on it’s picon in the gallery (bin) to show it’s been used. Is there a similar function in FCP. If I’ve got 50 clips in my bin and a 4 min. sequence, is there anyway of telling what clips I’m using without having to search my timeline (sequence) just by looking in my clip bin.
    Thanx,

Well FCP will not do it for you, but you can manually color tag a clip once you used it. or occasionally I create two bins one for used clips, and one for unused.

Thanx for you answer and suggestion. Can I ask how I manually color tag the clip?

Right-click on the clip and select a label.

    All the best,
