manual selective sharpening of videos?
In Photoshop, one the ways I sharpen is to double a layer, sharpen the top layer, and then right click the top layer and select blending options, then adjust the sliders under “blend if” so that the sharpening only affects certain ranges. I can then adjust the opacity so that I can get the correct amount. I prefer this over selective sharpen because I felt that it always gave me more control over the process. Any way I can do this, or a similar technique in After Effects CS 4?

You can pretty much do it the same way if you want.

and local contrast that works like Topaz adjust
