    In another forum a poster wrote this:
    And, with the mandated switch to
    all-digital broadcasting in Feb. 2009 and all-hi-def in Feb. 2010, any
    DV camera you buy today will be obsolete in about a year and a half.
    Therefore, if one is thinking of buying a new camera, I would wait a
    year or so and save up money to go to hi-def.

    I knew about the all dugital by Feb 2009 but high def by 20010. Anyone know nything about this.
    If this is the case sounds like we need to unload our SD cameras now before everyone finfds this out. (Although I agree hidef is then way to go I had planned to keep my SD barely used PD150)

    no mandate for HDV.
    and no mandate for HD.
    Only DTV. Many broadcasters are moving to HD at the same time as digital because it’s convenient and cost effective.
