  • Making this smooth text?

I thought this text was made in Sony Vegas, but a guy on another forum said it’s problary in iMovie.
However, i wonder how i create this text in Sony Vegas, in a good way.
In 14 secounds the text are comming

My idea was in this “Video Media Generator” where i create text, on the placement tab i can animate this one, where i make a keyframe around 5-10 and make the text go in (so it going fast in, then the text is going to slow down, so well then i make a longer keyframe where the text also move slows, and then 0,5 to 1 secound later, it fly away fast again.
Once i got this, i press on that button “bypass motion blur” and then.. i don’t know.

Also this is going too ‘hacky’, i need it to fade more. But how!? And i don’t get that motion blur effect when i tried.

After Effects would not be that hard to do since they have those easy eas key etc, and there you got a graph where you can choose the speed, but how i do it in sony vegas?

Tried to search on YouTube but cannot find.

You have the correct approach. Use keyframes and placement to move the text within the Text Generator. Or you can use Track Motion, whichever you prefer. The important part is that a long movement with keyframes that are close together will move faster and a short movement with keyframes far apart will move slower. Play around a bit and I’m sure you will get the timing the way you want.

Yes, but it has to fade between the speed changes?
Example: IF a car goes 150 kilometer in hour (150km/h) and have to go down to 100km/h, then you will pass the numbers 145, 140, 135, 130, etc. Something like that.
If not it will be a hard.. idk what named.
    But you problary get that.

So i wonder how i can make this more smooth? In a better way then trying to do it with keyframes, which i think will be hard, then need doing alot maths etc i would think.

Also i need more blur to it.

    Just tried out, here’s result.

Just add some Gaussian Blur (Horizontal only) allong with the keyframes. If you inspect the footage, the fly in and out is about 1/2 second. So place your second and third keyframes a 1/2 second from end ends of your event and position the text at it’s slows start and slow end. Then add a Gaussian Blur, and keyframe that the same way with keyframes 1/2 second in and out. Have the blur large at the start and then nothing by the 1/2 second mark, then increase it again to fly the text out. If you use horizontal blur only it will look like motion blur. This is probably what he is doing.

    Oh ok thank you.
    I’ll try it out.

But i also wonder, is it any way i can save this as a preset?
You know so i just can drag in that preset and it will be a text with guassin blur effect and the settings, with the keys too.
So i don’t have to remake this all time? 🙂

There is no way to save text + FX as a preset. That’s why I use 3rd party plug-ins like Boris FX, & Boris Graffiti. It allows you to save everything as a preset and saves a lot of time.
