  • Making other text layers change with a master text layer

    Hi:

I’m really new at expressions so, what i’m trying to do is have a master text layer and then a child layer right behind it. When I change the master I’d the child (or slave, whatever the right verbiage is) to change automatically as well. How do you go about doing that? Please keep in mind, I’m really new to expressions.

    Thanks

Just use the pickwhip to link the Source Text property of the children layers to that of the parent. The expression will look like this:

    thisComp.layer(“parent”).text.sourceText
