  • Making Effects using Title Background Only (NO TITLE TEXT)

Okay… I feel a bit jealous and excited at the same time when it comes to effects. Previously, we thought the only way to do effects is using the effects, but some people took the creative liberty to make a new breed of effects that affects only the background. I see that primarily in the Ripple Tools with the Outline along with other things.

I would like to know as much as I can on how to make effects that uses TITLE TEMPLATE and USES NO TEXT and applying the effects on TITLE BACKGROUND ONLY.

For example, I want to make an outline/fill effect that uses TITLE TEMPLATE that affects only the background (aka the source clip)

Many thanks for those who do give plenty of information.

In Motion create a new title. Disable the title layer. Add effects, publishing, rigs to the title background layer. Save it and it shows up in FCP X.
