I have all of my source material captured in a bin. I am taking clips out of these source bins. I will be making many independent clips out of these source clips. What is the best way to do this?

I am currently choosing my in and out points. I drag the selection down to the timeline. I then choose to make it an independent clip. I copy it it and I paste it in a bin that is named on the specific content. I then name the clip.

This seems to be a very slow way to do this. Do you know of a better way?

Also. when I change the name of the clip in the browser, shouldn’t the clip in the timeline change it’s name also?

    Many Thanks,

    Arturo

    Command – U = make a subclip

Rather than trying to figure out how to use this and all the other basic aspects of FCP, why don’t you try looking it up in the online manual in the help menu.
