  • Making a stereo pair pans my audio to the left! why?

Posted by Matthew James on March 25, 2009 at 4:10 pm

    Hey all!

This is just an annoying problem. Not sure if i’m just being an idiot, but if i want to make two audio channels a stereo pair, so that i can adjust both levels, for example, at the same time, Final Cut automatically sets the stereo pan level to -1, not 0. So everytime I select 2 audio tracks and press Alt-L to link them, this happens.

    Anyone know why?

    Thanks!

    When you Option L that makes 2 clips Stereo, L & R

    Can you adjust in Stereo,
Option L to unlink the Stereo,
    Pan tracks to your liking,
Highlight audio tracks you want together and Apple L to Link clips, this keeps panning independent, and your 2 audio clips in sync.
Re-listen and adjust re-linked tracks up or down a few db globally to correct difference from stereo to dual mono tracks as needed.

    good luck
