  • making a poster become the next scene

    hi

i have avid xpress pro and no compositing effects programmes

i want to follow a guy down the street, he looks at a poster on a tree, camera zooms into poster which becomes the next scene of a guy at the libary reading a book, camera zooms into a picture which becomes the next scene etc etc

can anyone offer any ideas of the best way of doing this?

    thanks a lot

i would use the corner pinning within the 3dwarp.
pin the following image (library) onto the poster (may be a pain in the ass, because if the camera is moving you will have to set keyframes for the correct position of the corners) and use a morph or a normal dissolve as transition.

Riots method works well, although if you use a still of the first frame from the next scene as your poster you may not need a transition effect. It may be a good idea to stick some motion blur over the zoom in as it will help disguise your transition/cut.

If you still have to shoot the scene put something on the tree to act as a guide for corner pinning. By putting a bit of card on the tree you will have straight edges to work with.

Obviously after effects would make this far easier and if you don’t have the programme and/or dont have the budget to get it, Adobe offer a 30 day free trial. Provided the job can be turned around within 30 days it may be worth downloading that.
