  • making a image disperse when another image goes across it..

    This is for Motion 4.
    I have a logo.
I am going to have an image of a whale pass “through” it (side scroll, not 3D).
When the whale passes “through”, I would like the logo to disperse/displace around it, like the whale is breaking it up.
Thanks for any help you can “throw” my way.

Try the Ripple and/or Wave filters

    Thanks, Mark.
I’m trying to get this concept to my Artistic Director by Friday, so I’m “short-cutting” by asking here at the Cow. Also, I’m at work and don’t have access to my Mac until tonight.

Will these filters cause the logo image to disipate as the whale passes through or should I combine it with Idustrial Particlemetrix?
And, should I be keyframing this? (I know HOW to keyframe, just not IF I should be concerned with doing it here).

    Thanks again in advance.
    Michael

p.s. will you be doing any more intensives for Motion here in the S.F. Bay Area?

Keyframe for sure – and it will cause it to distort, but not dissipate – particle metrix might work well for that
