Not sure if this has been asked on these forums, but can you export a Final Cut or Quicktime file with an alpha like you can do in Photoshop? For example, if I had a Lower 3rd graphic and I added a transition two the beginning and end to it like an Edge Wipe, I know if I make that into a movie file and try to place it on video, they’ll be black in back of it. Is there a way to export it for it will have a transparent background? Thank you for your time.

Don’t render it. Export using the Animation codec with colors at millions+ or using the ProRes 4444 codec.

How do you export with a codec? do you insert the footage on a sequence with that setting?

Export QuickTime Movie. Select from the list provided. Use if ProRes 4444 if you can. Or use Custom from the bottom of the list.

This rally should be in the basics forum.

    All the best,

Ok, thanks. I’ll try that. What if the file you have is all ready rendered?

Switch off the opacity and switch it back on.

    All the best,
