I have a picture of the front of a building that I have cut out to be just the building. I need to make it look like the building is growing from small to big, almost like it is bursting at the seams type of look. I need more than just a scale effect….. Any ideas on how to do this?

I tried applying a mesh warp to it but I don’t feel like it looks very good.

    Bezier warp?
    Bulge?

I tried bulge and it gave a definite edge between where the bulge was “bulging” and the rest of the building. I found that the mesh warp gave a more gradual edge and you couldn’t see a definite edge. Maybe I should try adding the bezier warp to the mesh warp… a little more control maybe?

You could do the old hitchcock thing where the building stays the same size but the background changes (i forget if its dolly in zoom out, or dolly out zoom in).

It’s the kind of thing where you might have to combine more than one effect (as you suggest)and experiment. The effects under “distort” should do what you want.

Well I ended up using a few different effects, mostly the mesh warp. I also moved the building around in my composition and flanked it with trees and bushes so that the edges were hidden except for the top. This really helped the look a lot. Thanks for all the help!
