Make white area of fram transparant / Reduced opacity
I´m editing a music video in premiere pro cs6. I´m working on very high contrast images as you can see in the attached image. What I´ve been trying to get my head around is how to make the white are (the artist) have a lower opacity and show an image coming tru from VIDEO 1 underneath. I´d like the black area to remain black.
I would also do this in AE if there is a way…Any ideas anyone?

Luma, Color, or Chroma Keying could work to mask off the desired areas.

– Insert the background video on Track 1
– If you want a semi-transparent layer of the high-contrast clip, insert it on Track 2 and set Opacity as desired (35% in the sample shown below)
– Insert the high-contrast clip above the other clip(s) and add the Luma Key effect; adjust Threshold and Cutoff accordingly
