  • Make Targa File Transparency in Adobe Premiere Pro

Posted by Edmar Flores on January 3, 2012 at 6:16 am

    To Whom It May Concern:

I’ve created a ID Channel TAG for video on photoshop and saved the file as a TARGA. Imported the TARGA file to Adobe Premiere (CS5) and now trying to make the TARGA file transparency in Adobe Premiere.

How do I go about doing so?

    Thank You,
    Edmar Flores

Ok, first you’ll have to make a mask in Photoshop to define the alpha channel, then, in the channels palette, duplicate that mask to “save” it as an alpha channel. Save your Targa and in the save dialog that pops up, make sure you see “Alpha Channels” checked off. Choose 32-bit Targa and you’re done.
