New to CS2….In PS 6 I believe after you appyed styles to a layer I remember a command called “MAAKE LAYER” or something along those lines that would make the styles permanent and remove the f on the layer so that when you exported you got all the shadows and glows etc. Right now I am forced to make a blank layer and merge with my styled layer so that when IImport to my NLE it see’s all the fx I applied.

    Any help?

Well.. you could right click (ctrl click) on F to choose Create layers

    BUT

many includie clipping paths and won’t import

I recommend in CS 2 making a new layer above the two
Click on both layers (so they are both selected.)

And choose Option Merge Selected (alt)

to merge to the target layer.. turn the other layer off…

Of course… making an alpha channel and saving a Pict or Targa is still the easiest way if you don’t need to import a layered PSD…. you can see teh alpha channel action in the Video Actions set for help.
