make image transparent
I have a white image logo in PNG, so background is transparent
Im trying to put it on a new red colour BG but make the white logo image become transparent/hollow
So what I need is a red colour BG and centre is like a cut out, hollow logo ( i need to see the checker board texture as my logo)..if that make sense..
I need to do it in photoshop, anyone have idea how to do it?i have tried select color range and magic wand, but it doesn’t do a very good job deleting everything i don’t need.

Once you have your white logo on a layer in the document with the red background on another layer, you can select the text area by control-clicking (PC) the layer thumbnail in the layers palette, then invert the selection and set that selection as the layer mask for the red layer. Then you can hide or delete the white logo layer.
