    Hi,
    I’m very new in C4d.
My question is, how can I maintain the size of a texture or shader when I scale an object. Say that I have a plane 10m x 10m, I create a material with bump noise, maybe displacement, etc. When I’m happy with it and with my camera view where I want it, I want to be able to make this plane bigger or smaller but I don’t want the material textures to scale with it because I need to look the same. Is there a way to make the textures scale relative to the world, not the object?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Most procedural textures allow you to define the coordinate system that is used to generate the texture. The ‘Noise’ shader defaults to ‘Texture’ Space.

You can switch this to ‘World’ but based on your description I think you might like the results with ‘Object’ better. If you use ‘World’ then the noise will not move or scale with your object. If you use ‘Object’ then the noise will move with the object but not scale.

    Thanks Darby,

That really helps. I’ll experiment with it
