October 19, 2012 at 4:13 pmIs this for Broadcast?
I can’t see any other reason to maintain interlace.
Enable Frame Controls and then set it to Off manually.Like so many posts you do state conclusively that you’re getting progressive but don’t explain how. It’s quite possible that your analysis is incorrect. I’m just saying this as a reminder for people who claim “results x” but unless I know your vision and/or glasses I have no idea if you’re seeing things correctly. It’s like claiming a color shift but never mentioning that you’re using a calibrated monitor (or not). Maybe your correct but it becomes an assumption without providing how you’ve determined the results.
Please check file in something like MediaInfo.

October 19, 2012 at 4:40 pmHi Craig,
Thanks for your response.
Yes, it is for broadcast, I need to FTP the footage and these are the specs I’ve been given.
As you suggest , I’ll set frame controls and then turn off.
Material is shot as 1080/50i and edited as interlaced, now I need to compress as interlaced.
Appreciate anymore input.
Regards.

October 19, 2012 at 7:59 pmLet’s try something else then.
Enable Frame Controls and set Output Fileds to Same as source or maybe even Top or Bottom directly (depending on your source of course).
BTW if it’s for Broadcast are they actually asking for Main Profile? Some may ask for High which Compressor can’t do. -

October 25, 2012 at 6:27 pmHi Craig,
Tried those suggestions.
When I export with current settings, Pro Res, all is good, interlaced.
I have also tried exporting to H264 and the file becomes progressive.
Is there a bug ?
Or I am missing a step in sending to Compressor ?
Thanks for your help.

October 27, 2012 at 1:21 pmSend to Compressor? I’d avoid that. I’d export a Master file and use that. It’s personal but I don’t trust the reliability of Send to Compressor.
I’m wondering if Compressor doesn’t allow for interlaced H.264. Personally I don’t find Compressor very flexible for broadcast delivery. I use Telestream Episode for broadcast delivery .
