Magic Wand Tool for Video
Does anyone else understand why this would be SO sweet?
At any rate, I am trying to do something like remove clouds from their sky background in a video. Normally, one might just do a luminance key or even color key to separate the two elements, but because
I am filming for a sort of Claude Monet “Vanilla Sky” color palette, my clouds are pink/orangish and their shadows are a bit blue, rendering the luminance key sort of useless (because there are both highlights and shadows in these clouds) as well as the color key (blue in the clouds, blue sky).
Does anyone know a way to get a key that sort of detects edges in moving video, such as with the Magic Wand Tool in photoshop?
This would be super stellar. I also can work in Apple Motion if necessary (I really like their interface better even though its a bit limited), and I’m not SUPER knowledgeable of the depths of After Effects (i.e. expressions, etc.)
