    Hi Everybody,

something weird – and I am a bit in pressure, since my deadline is in 10 hours.
I Color Corrected Footage (HD 1440*1080) Apple ProRes with The Look Suite, it all looks great, but when I render it, Highlights and Mids get blown out of proportion and certain darker areas suddenly appear as opaque grass green surface. See attached picture.
What can be wrong? When I turn the render options of timeline to 8-Bit YUV it suddenly looks ok.

    Any ideas?

    Thanx.

    Sascha

    MBL is absolutely GPU dependent.
You have to solutions; Lowering the bit depth (8b instead of 10b), or working with smaller size picture (720 instead of 1080).

Anyway, try to easy the GPU task: Close every kind of unnecessary window, sequence, scope,…
    Unplug any external monitor.

As usual: TAHXN Rafael. Long time i did not hear from you.
    All ok?
Will it help to upgrade to Looks 2.0? I heard you can switch from GPU based render over to CPU to not
    run into this problem?

    Greetings,

    Sascha

    Sure.Update.

    No really.
That was possible with MB.1. The option is not available any more.

Even better: It automatically switches from GPU to CPU if needed!
And I just watched the Tutorial video – it has a bunch of really great neat updates:

    1. You can toggle grade on/off with one keyboard shortcut like in COLOR
    2. Ratio Adjustable Vignettes now
    3. New Looks and Tools
    4. Skin Smoothing and skin tone adjusting tool and a lot more.

It’s some serious update – Red Giant did to Looks, what Apple should have done to FCP 😉

    Greetz,

    Sascha

    Hi Rafael,

yes, I tested it – with new Bullet it works – it automatically switches to CPU Render then, which means
no more artifacts and Green Fields in the Picture!
By the way: Nice new Photo!!!

And something for general information – we have a revolution coming up in ISrael – check that out:

    Have a great day,

    Hi Sascha,
All the MB upgrades worth the money.
I’ll buy the upgrade in a few weeks (I’m far from my place).
If funny to be investing money in an application that seems EOL.

Here we are having a hot summer too (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJO4LGq3FqU), as summers should be 🙂
