So, I just got my new 5D mark II, and iPhoto sees the camera when I plug in the USB, stills and movies…but the camera doesn’t show up as a hard drive, so I have no idea how to copy the footage to my computers hard drive. The Canon EOS utility can’t see it either. Please help. I looked for a driver, there doesn’t seem to be one for OS X 10.6.8 which is running on my MacBook Pro.

Re-Install the very latest versions from Canon from their web , page, including Canon Digital Professional you should see them downloading and installing, let it do the generic installation.

Otherwise phone Canon Technical Service, you are under warranty, used 2 of these cameras for 3 years, but, it is wise to upgrade the software, it may not come with the CD. Make sure it is for the Mac ???????????????????

Also, make sure the Mac is turned on after connecting the camera by USB2, and it is turned on to PC or MAC. The latest upgrades and there have been a lot of them may have fixed this issue.
