MacBook Pro 15″ 2015 – suitable for AMC8?
Hey all,
Sorry to start a new thread, I have seen a few other threads on this topic but I’m still not 100% sure. I’m looking to buy a new MacBook Pro so I can use AMC8. I’m moving to Iceland to work as a dogsledding musher for 6 months, and I do a fair bit of travelling anyways, so I’d need a portable unit I can get on with. I’m unsure on which model would be suitable as I’ve read one or two comments about the AMD Radeon cards not being suitable for the program, but I’m unsure?

Would this be suitable for editing? I won’t be using any 4k stuff I imagine, but probably 1080p. Any help would be appreciated!

https://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/compatibility/Media-Composer-System-Requirementsfor basic HD work, I still use my mid 2011 15″ MacBookPro with 16GB RAM and works fine for basic sequence and a few layers.

It really depends on the OS version and the Avid version. Older Avid MC cannot run on current or recent OS versions. And newer MBPs ship with latest OS, and most cannot have earlier OS versions installed.
