  Macbook Os x Lion won’t recognize Canon Elura 100

  I am trying to connect my Canon Elura 100 to my 2011 Macbook Pro that runs on Lion for editing. I am using a firewire IEEE1394 to connect the two. The canon says “DV-IN” when I connect it to the Mac but the Mac doesn’t recognize that the camera is connected.

  Does this require a different kind of cable? A new camera? Please help!
