I own a 20 inch iMac 2.4ghz (most recent one) and a Macbook 1.8ghz (intel).

I would like to use my macbook as an external monitor when i am editing on Final Cut Pro.

Is this possible? If so how do i do it?

Sorry it is not possible to do that.

[John Watts] “I am sure i have heard of a way to extend the desktop / screen of one mac using another?”

Again there is NO way to do that. You can extend the desktop with a regular monitor, but there is no way to make an iMac or a MacBook act as an external monitor to be plugged into a different computer.

You may be thinking about remotely accessing one computer from another, but that in no way extends the desktop of ether computer.
