I just purchased a D/A converter and some powered studio monitors so that I can use the AES/EBU outputs of the Kona 2. My audio is playing back fine from Both Final Cut and Mac system sounds (iTunes, quicktime, et al).

    My question:
I don’t have any volume control using the Mac volume keys on the keyboard and the only volume control on the speakers are in the back. Is there any way to enable the Mac volume keys so I can turn it up and down??

    Any help would be GREAT!!

    Thanks

You can, but I don’t recommend it. If you change the volume of your mac speakers you will change the volume of the output of FCP.

Get yourself a small mixer to use as a volume control. Hook in your D/A and also hook in your mac speaker output to the mixer. Instant volume control.

your Kona has analog outputs for montitoring. Buy a mixer, like you are being told to do. This is what everyone does – this is the correct thing to do. You are not going to use software to adjust your volume.
