I edit my HD content on MAC and I need to make a quicktime reference (self-contained files as well) file that will play on a Windows PC. The problem is that when I try to play it in Windows I get a white screen (in QuickTime Pro 7) but I do get sound. The file plays fine on the MAC. I have tried many HD settings but to no avail. Any ideas? Maybe my export settings are incorrect. My HD recognizes the tape as HDV1080i60. I’m new to this HD stuff so maybe im not making any sense. I thank you in advance for your quick response.

    How are you exporting?

Apple’s HDV codec is not a universal quicktime that is readable on PCs. You will have to export as DVCPro100 or 8-bit uncompressed.

You could also try using the BlackMagic HD QuickTIme codecs. They almost the same as the QuickTIme HD codec, but seem to be more capable in terms of cross platform compatibility.
