    Just a quick observation:

I was at my local Apple store Saturday and I noticed that a Mac Pro was on display. That was missing that last couple of times I was there.

Probably doesn’t mean much, but I took note.

I also forgot to look at the new iMacs. I spent more time looking at the Retina MBP and the new iPads.

Things change quickly at the Apple Stores now that John Browett is gone.

Hadn’t thought of that angle, but seems plausible.

[Scott Thomas] “I also forgot to look at the new iMacs.”

Do they already have displays of the new iMacs? I thought that wasn’t until December.

Ah the wonders of supply chain management.

Off topic, but I always enjoy when I get a chance to drive to SoCal from here in Phoenix before the holiday season. I always gaze in wonder at the HUGE long lines of hundreds if not thousands of parked rail freight cars – chock full of STUFF – waiting patiently to re-supply the city during and after the huge holiday selling season.

Always reminds me that we buy any product at the tail end of a long, long journey, and getting stuff to shelves in stores is a pretty amazing process on the global scale.

Back on topic, If there are MacPros in warehouses anywhere in the apple system, you can bet they’re being moved onto the store shelves prior to the holidays. To do anything else is kinda retail malpractice.

Didn’t know that. Just realized that I didn’t even think of iMacs while I was in the store. While I like the iMac and think they have a place, I’ve never considered one for myself.
