  • Mac Pro 5.1, ATI Radeon 5770 says “No GPU Detected” – WHAT?

Running AE CS6 on a Mid 2010 Mac Pro with ATI Radeon HD 5770 in PCI slot 1.

In both AE Previews Preferences and System/CUDA preferences, it confirms I’m running 8.0.63 on the CUDA driver, but in RED letters, it says “No GPU Detected”.

What the chicken does that mean?

Why doesn’t it detect it and HOW can I fix this? Really need to do some ray traced 3D here and this is NOT cool.

    What are my options?

If I help you become an efficient rower but you row in the wrong direction, I\’ve done you a great disservice. Vision matters.

CUDA is an Nvidia specific feature. It will not work on ATI cards.

[Aarron Pina] “What are my options?”

Buy an Nvidia card that has at least 1 GB of VRAM or use Cinema4D lite that comes with Creative Cloud.
