I heard for video editing a mac is best, but they seam to drop all the interfaces as they move forward in technology. Would anyone consider buying a pc for the adobe cc 2017 and auto desk software like mya, and 3d studio max? if so what would I need to by? looking to by a laptop. I also heard that pc gaming laptops only run about 3 hours of battery life and a mac book pro would be about 10 hours.

If the machines are properly equipped, and you have adequate fast storage for the type of media you’ll use. You can edit on either one. I’ve used both. It is more a preference issue now than an advantage issue. If you are used to Mac, edit on Mac. If you are used to PC, edit on PC.

I am sure someone will disagree. This is my experience. JMHO.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.

With the PC you will have more Options. The link below might be worth watching before buying your next computer.
