    Hi.

I tested yesterday some my footage from PC DL Extreme suite
in MJPG on my Mac Multibridge and got funny field
vibration …. it was not much but it was there.
    Not acceptable for broadcast.
Actually footage is progressive and exported from Premiere as no fields footage.

I wonder if JPG and MJPG are completely different or maybe some
of my setings on Multibridge are wrong etc.

I have not tested eny PC’s uncompressed 8 and 10 bit yet.

I did import the same stuff from TGA files from grading suite
and it was all great as it was on pc whem i did the project.

    Eny ideas ?

Mjpeg i believe is optimized for interlace, it might just be doing a poor job at rendering. The photo jpeg is a better format and doesn’t chew up as much data rate typically. Mjpeg is a CBR codec at about 67mb/s for SD whereas PJpeg only uses whats needed.

    hi.

Should i convert then my MJPG to prorez on mac with compressor ?

I wonder why it is not possible to use MJPG as it is just for
“read only”. I have tons on projects archieved that i have reuse and modify ab bit but mostly i have converted base material to MJPG because of the hdd space savings.

    Eny ideas ?

Pro Rez codec will result in a smaller file size over MJpeg. But i’ve never done testing on compressing a compressed source to pro rez, i do know that from full uncompressed pro rez just rocks, but on that note NO pc will decode prorez codec. I know app’s are being optimized to work with pro rez (like color) so if you are going to do any grading it might be worth it in the long run. I’d suggest to do some test’s and compare. ProRez does require a fast mac though(Intel) for real time playback/record..

Hi, am using latest drivers on my Intensity Pro,am using Adobe Premiere pro 2.0 capturing thru S-Video cable with MJPEG codec SD on 720/576 Pal. Picture on input and playback is crystal clear. But, when a make movie:MJPEG, Uncompressed 8bit 4:2:2 or DV, there is a problem, a picture is no more crystal clear, it is like composite compressed signal with smear color and less sharp. please help me. Thanks. Dragan
