M100HD – which codec is best for 1080i – 720/486??
Hi Everyone, I’ve done it before with no problems but alas..I didn’t write it down!! I believe I used dvcpro 50 with no issues but now
i am getting bad downconverts from HD – SD.
(drag and drop1080i HD media to new sd timeline)
Which codec does this best?
(from m100 choices in the codecs menu) – 720x486i – is what I want as a final qt.

Here in PAL land I’ve been advised that Motion JPEG B is the best to use and certainly it gives a good down convert. However, that is with the HDx board that I’m still using in my Media 100, I’m told that the new AJA system is not as good with down converts. Problem is that the HDx board will not run with the new versions in the Intel chipped Macs.
