As a follow up to my last post on the Comrex, do any of you have experience hooking up an M-Audio FW 1814 to either a w7 or Mac OS 10 machine running Final Cut Pro or some other audio based editor? It *seems* as if it should be pretty plug and play, but M-audio has been pretty tied to M Box and ProTools. I have both Mbox and Protools but it’s been way too complicated for my meager needs. And most of my work is audio for video.

My *best guess* is to simply plug the firewire into either one of my machines (w7 or Apple) setup a driver for it, and then open my software and see if it recognizes it. But before I do that, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t stepping into a land mine some how.

    Thoughts?
