Does Vegas have a Luma key like FCP? I am trying to shrink an effect with a white background and reposition it for a composite. The problem is that the pan/crop results in a black boarder around the white background because the upper white background clip is now smaller than the clip beneath it. The Multiply Mask is on the track and not the clip so everywhere there is a black boarder (no video)the clip beneath is black. I hope I explained that good enough. If I could apply a Multiply Mask effect to just the clip I should be able to resolve the above problem but it doesn’t appear that I can. So if I could apply a luma key to the clip that might work too. Effects with a black background are a snap in Vegas but the white background is giving me problems when I have to repostion or shrink the effect.

    Thanks,

Add a “Sony Mask Generator” and start with the “Luminance Mask” preset. Adjust from there.

    Ed,
I have tried the Luminance Mask but the effect cannot be seen no matter how I move the sliders. Once I adjust the clip and remove the white background the effect is also gone.
