    LTO8 Huge Issue

    Hi,

    I’m a DIT on a Feature Movie in Italy and I am making an LTO master .

    After copying 3Tb on the third tape of the project , I realize that I cannot find the footage anymore . Nothing happened , mtape LTFS utility just shutted down unexpectedly . I can still see the weight of the files in the finder but I cannot access to them anymore .

    Then I checked again the first two cartridges and I can’t see some files anymore . I have offload and volumes reports from Silverstack XT which prove that I copied all files …..

    I NEVER shutted down the mTape reader or disconnected it before ejecting the Tape.

    Can somebody help me ? I think it’s something unacceptable ….

    This is what I am using :

    MACMINI with Mojave 10.14.4
    Silverstack XT 6.5.4
    Mtape LTFS UTility
    MTAPE reader LTO8 through THB3
    HP LTO7 Ultrium RW Cartridge

    Did you find a fix to this?
    I haven’t used Silverstack to offload to LTO tape, but have you checked with Pomfort support?
