lowering resolution of dpx to edit
My system 2GHZ processor, 6 gb memory, power mac G5 with 1Ghz bus speed, 7500rpm harddrive, using esata drives that are raided to store dpx files, final cut pro 6.0.2 and quicktime pro7.4.1
My dpx files are 9.2 gb and brought in through an AJA plug-in which created a reference file. What are my options for making these workable low res files that I can also export later as high quality dpx files through the glue tools plug-in. -

I would compress the AJA reference movies to DVCPROHD in compressor. Make sure to keep the names the same. Then when you’re ready, just reconnect the files to the AJA reference movies.
