  Low res playback from FCS2 with LHe

  Hey gurus,

  We have had a Kona LHe card for a while but not really got to grips with it. We aren’t setup to properly monitor as our old Sony CRT can’t handle the new fangled inputs. Until we decide on a replacement I have a Sony Bravia LCD tv which we use as a client/preview monitor and I have it hooked up to the component out of the Kona.

  However the playback quality is very low res when playing back from FCP and Color. I have FCP and color setup to playback 8bit uncompressed, Control panel is showing purple YUV-8b 625i25 playback with a blue analog out 625i comp SMPTE/EBU going to the TV.

  In color I have set all the preferences to full res.. In FCP I’m

  And still I’m getting preview res displayed on the TV. The playback basically matches the output of the playback/preview in color just blown up onto a 40″ screen.

  I’m a bit stumped and would appreciate guidance from someone who knows what they are talking about (not me).
