A while back in this forum someone put up a link to this site for a different video. I book marked it and have been trying to figure out how they did it. I would love to be able to use some of the ideas in the video for a piece that I am working on. Particularly the smooth continual movement feeling they have going on.

How would you tackle a project like this in AE? Is this one big comp that they are moving a camera around on?

Really great work, don’t you think?

Projects I’ve done like this I’ve done in one comp so I have one consistent camera move. To make organization easier I’ve pre-comped sections. Hope this helps.

How do they put that blue bar below that tells you how much of the video have been downloaded to your computer? I’d like my videos (in my website) to have them. Thanks and God bless.

In AE you could approach this 2 ways:

    1. You could have all your elements parented to a null layer

    –or–

    2. You could add a camera

Move either the null or the camera around as your other animation executes.

The smooth motion you like can be achieved by setting your moves (on either the null, or the camera) and then going to the graph editor – selecting all the motion points – and setting them to “auto bezier” You can fine tune the smooth motion by pulling and tilting the bezier handles.

    Good luck…

    Great suggestions, thank you.

I like the idea of using the null object.
