lost .vf file
I am in dire need of your expertise.
Using ms plat 9. I have captured 3 hrs of hi def to time line.
The file was showing as a .vf file and as long as I worked on it each day it seemed to simply open when I opened ms. Now I have not worked on it for several days and when I hit the ms icom it will not open. I get a message that “a” .jpg file, which is part of the project, cannot be found. Any idea where my work may have gone? I saved my work prior to each log off. -

Did you move the files that were used in the project? Usually when Movie Studio says that a file is missing it gives you the complete path to the file that it remembers. Have you looked in that path and does the .jpg file exist?
The .vf file is just the project file. It does not contain any of the video or audio data. That still resides on your hard drive. The .vf file is just your edit decisions and generated media.

If you still have the JPG, you should be able to re-link it to it’s new location in Vegas.

No, I edit and am always sure to save. I opted to leave the lost file off line and movie studio opened the project again just fine. I then deleted the offline file and re imported it from the proj media list.
Seemed to work just fine.
Should have tried this before I panicked.
Is this .vf file going to render ok for a duel layer blue ray disc from the time line?thanks. as always, for your help
