I had Vegas Platinum 9 installed on my machine. Last week my primary drive was corrupted in an overall meltdown of my system. I was able to recover most of my data, and I still have the Vegas software (I downloaded it a WHILE ago). I have no idea where my S/N is, though, so I cannot get the software up and running again.

Is the S/N written anywhere in a downloaded copy? Any suggestions on other things to try?

    Thanks!

    Scott

If you registered your copy with Sony online, they will have all the details stored on their site. You access it by logging in to your account.
    Cheers,

It was registered, but I am not sure what email address I was using at the time. I have moved and changed ISPs (and therefore email addresses). I have tried to do it that way, but if the system sent a password reset email it would be to a dead account.

I was hoping that it was stored in a file somewhere on the machine.

Activation numbers usually come in an email so if you still have that, you’re OK.
Try logging into your account using old email addresses in the hope that you’ll find the right one.
If all else fails, call Customer Service tomorrow, explain the situation and I’m sure they’ll be able to help you.
