Lost Timecode
Hi there,
I work in news and I have to give the journalist I work with P2 proxy files (they come with embedded timecode) from my panasonic news camera so she can pick out the quotes she wants. Then she tells me the timecode of the “grabs” and I locate them. I’ve recently started shooting with a 5D MKiii so I am having to make my own “proxy” files using compressor from the source media so she can read the timecode. Recently I had a load of clips loose their source timecode. Each clip’s timecode now starts at zero but when I originally made the proxy files they were made with proper embedded timecode that got greater as shot more and more. Somewhere along the line in FCPX all the clips seem to have lost their original timecode metadata and I can’t for the life of me work out when or how this happened. Any ideas? Cheers

Tc is zero in fcp or elsewhere?
