    You can do the same thing global. I also have a project called “Walter’s FX and Filters.” See the thing about being able to save this as a project means I can take my filter settings with me anywhere. Just bring the project with me to my laptop or to anyone else’s shop.

    nevertheless, it would be better if you could do this from within FCP, as you can with your keyboard layouts,etc

    as it is, a lot of people DONT make a backup of their faves, and then lose them with a pref trash,
    or an up-date.

    Yes, but it does not appear to be in FCP 6 and I’m not sure it ever will be there. So do what I’ve been saying for probably two years now. Save all your faves into a project or multiple projects.
