    YUP – it’s happened…

Somehow, someway, the lastclip.txt got separated from the contents of one of my reels.

Am using: FCP 5.1.2, MacBookPro and P2 Genie.

Anyways I am trying to remarry them so I can import them.

Tried rebuilding .txt using TextEdit using the three line method:

Line one: the last modified clip (in my case 0004FF)
    Line two: 1.0
Line three: number of clips + 1 (in my case 5)

But the result I am always getting is:

__________ (the folder I’m trying to import) has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches the supported media.

Don’t know what this means – or what I’m doing wrong.

    Everything seems in order…….

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

You don’t need it REALLY to import. Try…I have had success in doing so without it a few times.

If it turns out that for whatever reason you just can’t import it no matter what, you can try P2 Log Pro from Imagine Software; it has P2 Repair features for situations exactly like this.

    Hi

Although aware of the importance of the lastclip.txt, it slipped my mind when shooting on HVX-200 recently. I backed off my footage on the P2 onto a Sonnet Fusion F2 via my MacBook Pro, using Panasonic’s P2CMS and now when I come to use the footage, there isn’t a lastclip.txt file in any of the folders I created on the hard drives. Consequently, I can’t import into Final Cut Pro 6.

Can anyone throw any light on what I’ve done wrong?

    Thanks
