Lost in the Preset World…Which to use with Sony DSLR
Hello All,
I’d like to use AP CS 5.5 to make a DVD of my trip to Africa. I “filmed” using a Sony Alpha SLT-A65 DSLR. When I “get info” on my video clips I see the following:
Codec: H264 – MPEG-4 AVC (part 10)(h264)
Resolution: 1920×1080
Frame Rate: 59.940060
Decoded Format: Planar 4:2:0 YUVI think I’d like the DVD to be HD and Progressive. But, I’m at a loss to understand what Preset I should use when creating my AP Project.
If anyone has a suggestion I would appreciate it.

There are a few ways to create a sequence that matches your source footage:
- In the Project panel, drag the source file onto the New Item icon at the bottom of the panel, or
- In the Project panel, right click the source file and select “New Sequence from Clip,” or
- In the Project panel, highlight the source file and select File > New > Sequence from Clip, or
- Select File > New > Sequence > Custom Settings, and set the parameters to match your footage — Editing Mode: Desktop or Custom (I’m not sure which on CS5.5 uses), 59.94 fps, 1920×1080, Square Pixels (1.0), No Fields (Progressive Scan); audio will typically be 48kHz or 44.1kHz, and the other settings can be left as default
