Lost Firewire video I/O
Hi Folks
We seem to have lost our FireWire I/O when we upgraded to 10.4.2.
About this Mac show the FireWire VTR connected and FCP will control the VTR via FW but it does not see is as a video I/O device.
I do not believe this is a KONA related issue, but I am posting it here to ask if anyone else is having this issue. DVCPro HD users?

For the record, and any one else that is reading this, I think this is one of the reasons why doing a totally clean install is the best way to get to FCP5 & Tigger. It’s really easy. Buy a decent SATA drive, put it in slot 2 of your G5 and load tiger and all of your other apps on to it. When you need to, boot back to Panther and run from there. As you get more and more comfortable with Tiger, drag all of your impotant docs to the Tiger SATA and make sure to reinstall plugins and anything of that nature.

Just a little more info.
The lost Firewire I/O is only on systems that are upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.x
Systems with a 10.4.x clean install do not have this problem.

It’s a common problem to people who have upgraded to 10.4.2
just trash quicktime receipts at library/receipts and reinstall Quicktime from the Standalone Quicktime installer downloaded from the apple site.
have worked this way to many people..
