    Hi everyone,

I am into a half hour documentary, almost there, and all of a sudden I’ve lost the ability to expand clips (ctrl-S). Detach still works (shift-ctrl-S).

In a previous version of the edit (different project) the function works. If I copy paste contents of the current project into a new empty one the function still does not work.

Anyone seen this before? any idea how to get rid of this?

    Thanks

(I’ve signaled this bug to Apple)

It’s going to be difficult to reproduce without know what brought it about, what you were doing before it happened. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that happen.

    All the best,

This happened to me once, but it turned out it was a setting I had changed. Have you changed the clip appearance (the switch next to the timeline magnifying glasses near the audio level meters)?

Also, try trashing or moving your preference to restore everything to defaults and see if that clears it up. I think there’s a good chance this isn’t actually a bug.

    Hi Patrice,

If Loren’s solution doesn’t work, it could be that your role status is set to minimize. This is set in the Timeline Index. Click on timeline index on the bottom left of your timeline (or hit cmd-F), then “roles”, and then check to see if the up arrows are selected (it will be blue). If they are, that particular role will be minimized.
