    Hello

I’m somewhat new to using Sony Vegas, so I think that I have done something wronge somewhere, but I have no clue how to fix it..

I use a sony HDD camera (dcr190) with dolby 5.1 audio, and so i have some projects also with using 5.1 audio tracks. for some reason I have removed the LFE and CENTER tracks from the timeline resulting in only having the FRONT and REAR audio tracks…. is there a way to restore all the 5.1 tracks in the whole project? I just can’t get it back. when i insert a scene from the project media (the original file) all the trakcs are there, but not in the scenes that are already in the project…

    if anyone has an idea?!

    Kind Regards, Jeroen

There’s probably an easier way to do this but here’s my suggestion.
Double-click a scene to highlight it, right-click and select Open in Trimmer, click on the audio portion, drag it back down to the Vegas timeline and select Audio Only – Add Audio Across Tracks.
You should now see your missing tracks.

Jeroen, I’m very glad to hear that it worked for you.
I’ve had to do this numerous times but only on a stereo track, never 5.1 so I was keeping my fingers crossed.
As to why it happened, there are some things I write off to the time of day or the outside temperature or what I had for breakfast or …
In other words, no one has a clue why computers do the strange things that they sometimes do 🙂
