  • Losing quality when rendering from AE

Hi All! I’m a newb here so bare with me.

I am using after effects to green screen footage, when I import the footage into AE from FCP it looks good. When I render it out I am losing A LOT of quality. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and or if there is a fix. Quality in general has be somewhat elusive to me and it is very puzzling. Any advice at all for quality even just at the shooting level i’m interested in. I am using standard settings when rendering from AE.

Plus, if you want to export your key from AE to comp in FCP, don’t. Finish the comp in AE, that’s what AE is made for. Then bring in your finished comp in your cut.

what are you rendering out as? compression settings?
what specifically are the quality issues(stretched?, blurry?, pixelated?, compression artifacts?)?

Also Robert, I am exporting it as a .mov using animation. I am losing definition in the face

I would just like to clarify, I am taking a green screen clip from FCP into AE and keying the green screen. When I am finished I render it out of AE and the quality is terrible, it is not crisp, I lose all definition.

I appreciate any information anyone has on this subject of just HIGH QUALITY film in general. Also as specific as possible to help me in this process would be great.

    THANK YOU.
