I’m looking for a small lcd monitor for my 170, preferably with a high def component and good resolution, maybe 720p? Hdsdi is too expensive.

I hear alot about the Marshall monitors: https://www.lcdracks.com. They just seem like the resolution is kinda low except for the expensive ones. Why are they all plastic?

but there’s also a few new companies around. The cheapest one I found was https://www.hannahdigital.com. It look like it will be pretty good for the money and it has good resolution. It’s only 5.6 inches and 720p.

Ive seen the small hd while browsing too. It looks nice but is 200 dollars more than the Hannahdigital one. But its still cheaper than the Marshall.

The new ones are much cheaper and look like they have alot better features. Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Thank you – Blair

I saw the Marshals at NAB and really like the focus assist feature they have. Also like the fact that you can get battery plates to match your camera’s batteries.

The Hannah monitors spec sound good, but I would not want to be the first to test them. For a product that is going to ship next week, they don’t even have pictures of it. Plus if you want to do batteries and you don’t have the batteries it takes there will be a hefty investment there vs 2 or 3 more comera batteries. Would like to see those screens, they would probable have about 250 dpi to fit 1280 pixel in that space.

Next week? Where did you hear that? I wish. It says they are shipping September 28th on their website. You can’t even order them yet, or I probably would have got one.

I’ve checked out the Marshall monitors. Nice features, but twice the price, and the resolution is only 800×480.

misread/mistyped, but I would not even order something that doesn’t have more info and reviews. not saying anything bad about them, just that I would not be one of the first to buy anything, But if you are going to need battery power that is going to add to the price. How much? doesn’t say?

I would really like to see these when they do come out, they are bright also.

Wow… Hannah Digital, I know that guy!

He mentioned a couple weeks ago that he might ask me for help testing some new LCD monitors, but I had no idea he’d gone this far already.

I’ll certainly fill you guys in when I know more.

Checkout Ikan. We have a two year-old V8000 model and it’s very nice. I believe they also have a 5.6″ lcd. https://www.ikancorp.com/pages/monitors/V8000hdmi/index.htm
